Nana's Jelly Slice

This recipe is very special to me, I can remember my Nana who is now 91 making it for us when we were very small.  It is loved by all her grandchildren and now her great grandchildren as well!

Ingredients

225gm marie biscuits, crushed
170gm butter, melted
400gm tin sweetened condensed milk
2 lemons
2 tsp gelatine
3/4 cup boiling water
1 pkt red jelly crystals

Method
  • Line a 25x15cm slice tin with foil
  • Mix together the crushed biscuits and melted butter, and press into the tin, refigerate
  • Beat the sweetened condensed milk with the juice of two lemons.
  • Add the gelatine that has been dissolved in the boiling water, beat well
  • Pour over the base and refrigerate until set
  • Make up the jelly according ot th instructions on the box, allow to cool
  • Pout over the top of the slice and chill until set
